The primary goal of this program is to provide mentors to "at risk" minority males from single parent families. The inherent purpose of the mentoring program is to stop negativism before it starts. The mentoring program volunteers focus on skills the child needs to avoid the everyday pressures surrounding him. Individuals are trained in the importance of their role and the potential affects that it will have on the child. The volunteers stress the importance of a higher education, financial responsibility and self-esteem.
